First couple of days...

OK...so about our holiday in Cote D'Azur. Apparantly, I did't take as many pictures as I should have. Still, here are some of my favorite memories with a smidge of blab to explain the photo. All in all, it was a nice, family trip. We all got to stay together and spend time together. I think that was the best part. Ja and I didn't watch any TV at all the days were all lazy, warm and blurred into each other. We were away for just 10 days including travel time. Not nearly enough time to really enjoy it all, or take it all in. There is something about France that makes you want to experience it. A combination of being a tourist and also trying your hand at being a local. Next time, we'll have to try and go for longer.

Here is the view from the apartment that we rented. We were very centrally located in Vielle Antibes. The markets, shops, banks, restaurants, sites and harbour were all within walking distance. It was great. Our place was a bit too bright at night though and we were certain that there was one window that wasn't really double glazed or was permanently open or something as we heard the occasional whoop late in the night. The flat was also well situated so that we could meet up with some friends that we met duing our honeymoon almost 10 years ago. There was no hustle and bustle in Antibes. Little traffic and people were friendly. We were visiting during low season so I can see how all cities in the Riviera might turn into small party hubs as the summer hot season rolls in.

We didn't do much the first couple of days...or for that matter really much the whole trip. Explored around the town. Walked to the harbour, walked to a little beach nearby where there were people sunning. It was a bit of a sandy, pebbly beach. Had we more time, we would have hung out there for a bit, maybe taken a lunch and enjoyed the scenry. We also did meet up with our friends. who turned out to be extreamely helpful and made our trip that much more memorable.
