Quick breadsticks
It's a wet and gloomy day here. Maybe you feel like some lovin' from the oven? Here's a recipe for some quick breadsticks. I would make them a bit thinner when I do them again and do the twisty thing so that they are rustic like, but they are tasty and a good one to involve the kids as even odd shaped dough gets baked and eaten. We brushed some with butter and parmesan but note that the cheese burns and stinks up the oven.
Recipe - makes for about 2 dozen somewhat thick ones. Oven is at 400F
1 cup flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 tsp b. powder
1/2 t salt
3 T olive or canola oil
1/2 - 3/4 water or milk
option - coarse salt
Combine dry ingredients in a food processor, you could do it in your stand mixer to. Add oil and mix so it's crumbly. Pour wet water or milk and process until in comes together.
On lightly floured surface roll out into sticks.
Place sticks on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 12-15 mins until golden.
Let cool and display standing in a glass for munching.
